Married & Satisfied : Developing True Contentment in Your Union

Marriage is the most powerful relationship between two people. When two individuals enter into the marriage covenant in the right manner, the end results are priceless. The relationship between the husband and wife is beautiful, fulfilling, rewarding, and satisfying. Marriage is a special force that takes a relationship from ordinary to extraordinary. It seals your connection, builds legacy, and changes generations. Unfortunately, a lot of people do not possess the relational skills needed to attain the results that a good marriage promises. They do not know how to embrace the rewards that marriage offers. Sadly, many couples struggle to find the total satisfaction that marriage can deliver. My wife and I found ourselves in the same situation during the first few years of our marriage. We dated for five years before our marriage. However, we still lacked the relational skills to find fulfillment in our relationship. We quickly learned that it only takes about thirty minutes to experience a beautiful wedding ceremony. On the other hand, it takes many years to build a healthy and successful marriage.We found out that both of us can be satisfied with how the wedding ceremony turned out. However, this does not necessarily mean the same satisfaction will continue into the marriage.Let me start by saying my wife and I have been married for almost thirty years. Yes, we are married and satisfied. We are best friends, the parents of five wonderful adult children, and a dog. We are still extremely happy.
